Human Heritage features

Choose on heritage feature:

  • Human Heritage. You can increase three ability scores of your choice by 1. The ability scores you increase with this feature cannot be the same ability scores that you increased with your background ability score choices.

  • Shifter Heritage. As a bonus action, you can assume a more bestial appearance. This transformation lasts for 1 minute, until you die, or until you revert to your normal appearance as a bonus action. When you shift, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Constitution modifier + half you level (rounded up). You can use this bonus action to shift a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. Whenever you shift, you also gain an additional benefit for the duration based on one of the following options (choose when you select this heritage):

    • Beasthide. Your hit point maximum and current hit points increase by an amount equal to twice your proficiency bonus and you gain a +1 bonus to your armor class.

    • Longtooth. When you shift and as a bonus action on each of your subsequent, you can use your elongated fangs to make an unarmed strike. On a hit, this unarmed strike’s damage dice is 1d6 piercing damage, instead of the bludgeoning damage normal for an unarmed strike.

    • Swiftstride. Your walking speed increases by 10 feet. Additionally, you can move up to 10 feet as a reaction when another creature moves within 10 feet of you. This reactive movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks.

    • Wildhunt. Once you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you have advantage on all subsequent melee attack rolls against that creature until the transformation ends or you attack another creature.

  • Dhamphir Heritage. You count as undead for effects and spells that can target undead creatures. When you take the attack action, you can replace on of your attacks with a special unarmed attack; a vampiric bite:

Vampiric Bite. This special unarmed strike deals 1d6 piercing damage on a hit. The target must by willing, grappled by you, incapacitated, or restrained. Also when you hit with this special unarmed attack, you can choose to roll a number of d6 equal to your proficiency bonus. The attack deals necrotic damage equal to the roll and the target is diseased. When you use this ability, you also regain hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt by this feature. You can deal this extra necrotic damage once between short or long rests.

  • Reborn Heritage. Your creature type is undead instead of your ancestry’s normal creature type. You temporarily remember glimpses of the past, perhaps faded memories from ages ago or a previous life. When you make an ability check, you can roll a d6 immediately after seeing the number on the d20 and add the number on the d6 to the check. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

  • Hexblood Heritage. You know the bestow curse spell and can cast it without expending a spell slot. When you cast bestow curse with this feature, you and the target are both effected by the same curse for the duration of the spell. You can use this feature a number of times between long rests equal to your proficiency bonus.
