Bardic College

College of Valour

Bards of the College of Valor are daring skalds whose tales keep alive the memory of the great heroes of the past to inspire a new generation of heroes. These bards gather in mead halls or around great bonfires to sing the deeds of the mighty, both past and present.

Valour Proficiencies

When you join the College of Valor at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with medium armour, shields, and martial weapons.

Armoured Casting

You ignore spell failure from armour when you cast bard spells wearing medium armour.

Combat Inspiration

Also at 3rd level, you learn to inspire others in battle.

Also, if a creature inspired by your bardic performance hits another creature with a weapon, the creature can use the die to add the number rolled to the weapon’s damage roll. Alternatively, when an attack roll is made against the creature, it can roll the bardic performance die as a reaction and add the number rolled to its AC against the attack, potentially changing a hit into a miss. If an inspired creature uses its bardic performance die in this way, it also ends the bardic performance for that creature.

War Chants

Starting at 6th level, while you are concentrating on a spell or an effect that requires you to maintain concentration, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn, you do not gain this benefit if you already have the extra attack class feature.

You also learn one fighting style from the list of fighting styles that is available to the fighter.

Lastly, you can also add your proficiency bonus to saving throws to maintain your concentration on spells or abilities.

Battle Magic

At 18th level, you have mastered the art of weaving spellcasting and weapon use into a single harmonious act. When you use your action or bonus action to cast a spell or expend one of your bardic performance dice, you can make one weapon attack as part of that action or bonus action.
