Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn’t impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls.

Also once on each of your turns, whenever you take the attack action, you can forgo one attack to make a special ranged attack, a rapid shot:

Rapid shot. You make two ranged attacks against a target within the weapon’s normal range. You must provide ammunition or separate thrown weapons for each attack as normal (e.g. by firing your bow twice or by shooting your crossbow and then throwing a dart). These attacks are made with disadvantage if the weapon’s damage dice is greater than 1d6.
