Spell Description

With a screech you rouse avian spirits to your aid. When you cast this spell, you summon a swarm of birds or a bird of prey (see templates below).

In addition, the summoned creatures gain one of the following special abilities when you cast this spell:

  • Darkvision. The creature gains darkvision to a range of 60 feet.

  • Flyby. The creature does not provoke opportunity attacks when it moves out of an enemy's reach.

  • Sky Colossus. This creature is huge instead of the listed size and its strength becomes 21. Once per turn when it hits another creature with an attack, the target is also grappled on a hit. Until this grapple ends, this creature can automatically drag the creature while moving at half speed.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th or higher, the summoned Swarm of bird’s fly speed increases by 10 and the bird of prey’s fly speed increases by 20 feet for each slot level above 4th. Also, if the spell is cast with a spell slot of 7th level or higher and you choose the Sky Colossus special ability option, this creature become Gargantuan instead of huge.

Swarm of tiny birds This creature is a swarm of tiny creatures. The swarm can squeeze through a space that is large enough for a tiny creature. When this creature takes the attack action, it attacks all other creatures in its space. The swarm can't regain hit points or gain temporary hit points. The swarm has vulnerability to damage from effects that deal damage to creatures in an area.

Actions

Chirping Flurry. Melee Attack, Melee Attack, reach 0 ft., 1d10 piercing damage + 1d8 thunder damage. On a hit, the target is deafened until it leaves the swarm's space. While deafened by this attack, a creature has disadvantage on Constitution saving throws to maintain concentration on spells.

Distracting Swoop Once on each of its turns, when this creature moves adjacent to a target, the target looses its reaction until the beginning of its next turn.

Actions

Talon Dive. Melee Attack, Melee Attack, reach 5 ft., 1d6 piercing damage. If the bird of prey moves at least 30 feet before making this attack, the attack is made with advantage and deals an additonal 3d6 piercing damage on a hit. On a critical hit, the target is stunned until the end of its next turn.
