Spell Description
When you cast this spell, you can cast it with an action or a bonus action and the spell’s effect depends on how you cast it:
When you cast the spell as an action, it lasts 24 hours and requires concentration. When cast with an action, you target one creature within 10 miles that you are aware of even if you do not know its exact location (such as a creature whose tracks you follow, a creature you have seen before, or a creature someone has described to you). If the creature is not within range, the spell dissipates without effect. For the duration, you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) or Wisdom (Survival) check you make to locate or track the creature. At any time for the duration, you can immediately end the spell and cast it again with a bonus action without expending a spell slot.
When you cast the spell as a bonus action, you can choose one creature within 60 feet that you can see, and the spell lasts 1 minute (and does not require concentration). For the duration, you deal an additional 1d6 to the target once on each of your turns. If the target drops to 0 Hit Points before this spell ends, you can take a bonus action to move the mark to another creature you can see within range.
