Spell Description
You evoke a fiery blade in your free hand for the duration. The blade functions like a scimitar, except:
The scimitar deals fire damage instead of slashing damage, and the first attack you make with the weapon each turn deals an additional 1d6 fire damage on a hit and the target starts burning.
You make a spell attack instead of a melee attack when you attack with the scimitar.
The scimitar provides bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.
You are proficient with the scimitar.
If you let go of the blade, it disappears, but you can evoke the blade again as a bonus action.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the additional fire damage dealt on your first hit on a turn increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd.
