Spell Description

You evoke a fiery blade in your free hand for the duration. The blade functions like a scimitar, except:

  • The scimitar deals fire damage instead of slashing damage, and the first attack you make with the weapon each turn deals an additional 1d6 fire damage on a hit and the target starts burning.

  • You make a spell attack instead of a melee attack when you attack with the scimitar.

  • The scimitar provides bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light for an additional 20 feet.

  • You are proficient with the scimitar.

  • If you let go of the blade, it disappears, but you can evoke the blade again as a bonus action.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the additional fire damage dealt on your first hit on a turn increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd.
