Spell Description
You create a cordon of protection on a spot you touch. You plant three pieces of ammunition (stones, pebbles, arrows or bolts) or thrown weapons in the ground and lay magic upon them to protect the area.
Until the spell ends, whenever a creature other than you enters within 30 feet of the cordon for the first time on a turn or ends its turn there, you can use a reaction to have one piece of ammunition or thrown weapon magically fly up to strike it. You make a spell attack against the creature. On a hit, the creature takes 4d6 damage (of a type appropriate for the weapon or ammunition). The spell then ends for that piece of ammunition or thrown weapon.
The spell ends when no ammunition or thrown weapons remain.
If you spend 10 minutes casting this spell, it does not require concentration and lasts for 8 hours instead, and the cordon automatically attacks any creature that moves within range of the cordon (no reaction required).
When you cast this spell like this, you can designate any number of creatures that the spell does not attack.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the amount of ammunition that can be affected increases by two for each slot level above 2nd.
