Spell Description

Using weak magic to awaken the dead, apprentice necromancers use this spell to practice their craft. When you cast this spell, you can create one of the following effects:

  • Crawling Claw. You animate the corpse of one tiny beast or severed humanoid limb for up to 1 minute. This tiny undead creature has a walking speed of 20 feet and can perform minor tasks for you that are reasonable for a creature of their size and physiology. This creature cannot attack and if it takes any damage it is immediately destroyed. You can only have one tiny creature animated in this way at any time.

  • Deadly Grip. You target a humanoid or beast corpse, which is shortly animated to attempt to grapple another creature that is within 5 feet of it. The dead humanoid or beast body makes a melee attack against the target using your spell attack modifier. On a hit, the target is grappled until you cast this spell again, or it (or another adjacent creature) uses an action to free it.

  • You instantly animate a body part of a dead creature within range instructing it to perform a simple task (such as opening its eyes, causing it to speak a few words, or pulling a lever within its reach).
